Juayua - San Marcos 69-73 The most interesting game of round 13 was a home defeat of their biggest opponent Juayua (8-3) to first ranked San Marcos (9-2) 73-69 in the game for the first place. It ended the four-game winning streak of Juayua. It was a key game for the top position in the league. San Marcos dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Juayua's 26. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when San Marcos made 7 blocks. Forward Ronald Flores (186-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and Cuban center Yoan-Luis Haiti (201-82, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 10 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Four San Marcos players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Harrison Rieger (193-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds and forward Fernando Baides (200-97) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. San Marcos have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-2 record. Juayua at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. San Marcos are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Izalco (#5) at home in the next round. Juayua will play against Arce in San Salvador and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Nejapa maintains fourth place with 3-9 record. Arce at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Nejapa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Arce will play at home against the league's second-placed Juayua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
